About me

As the Director of Regional Engagement, I am responsible for the strategic leadership and development of the University's engagement with Further Education Colleges and Multi-Academy Trusts. My goal is to create a cohesive regional approach to tertiary education, ensuring alignment across educational levels and providers to meet the skills needs of learners, employers, and the government for both economic and social benefits. A key part of my role is to ensure that our regional partnerships align effectively with regional and national policies and initiatives for growth, such as the Industrial Strategy and Skills England.

Before my current role, I served as the Director of Apprenticeships. Prior to that, I spent 17 years in national policy and regulatory roles, working collaboratively across the higher education sector and beyond to improve access and participation in higher education for under-represented and disadvantaged groups. This included positions as Assistant Director for Access and Participation at the Office for Students and Assistant Director at the Office for Fair Access.
