About me

I am a Programme Leader on the BA(Hons) Law and Criminology degree and a Lecturer in Criminology at the University of the West of England.

 Prior to joining UWE in 2022, I completed a BSc (Hons) in Criminology with Psychology in 2021 and a MSc in Forensic Science in 2022. I have also completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education (2024). I am currenly enrolled onto a PhD programme at UWE. 

 
My research interests are hate crimes; miscarriages of justice; racial injustice in the criminal justice system; and forensic science. My work to date has focused on racial injustice in policing, law and forensic science; and race action plans. I have an interest in race action plans within the criminal justice system; see publications below. I am also a member of the Race Matters Network with Avon and Somerset Constabulary.  
 
In 2021, I worked alongside ACH Organisation and a senior researcher to examine refugee integration in the UK. In 2022, I worked as a Research Assistant examining the impact that healthy soil has on our environment. 
 
I teach across Criminology and Professional Policing. I have taught across a range of modules; Exploring the Social World and Problems of Crime, Introduction to Criminological Theory, Understanding Crime, Introduction to Evidence Based Policing and Criminology in Action.
