About me

I support students in the School of Architecture and Environment with a focus on digital media, photography, video production, generative AI and creative software workflows. With a professional background in photography and Graphic Design, my role centres on helping students build the practical skills they need to succeed in their course projects and studio work, particularly when using specialist tools and technologies.

I manage the R-block Media Studio, ensuring that the facilities and equipment are safe, up to date, and meet the demands of current teaching. I also work closely with colleagues across Product Design, Architecture, and Digital Media in order to align technical sessions with curriculum goals. I am the primary support for Adobe Creative Suite and on request, can offer bespoke workshops, 1:1 support and produce bespoke digital resources such as training videos or apps.

Between 2020 and 2023, I served as Technical Representative on UWE’s Academic Board. In this role, I focused on strengthening the visibility of Technical Services across the university and contributed to policy discussions around curriculum design, governance, and student experience. My focus is on bring a practical, student-focused perspective to strategic decision-making, particularly around how technical teams support teaching outcomes and digital learning environments.

I am committed to the development and expansion of an educational framework which underpins practice-led technical teaching and delivers professional growth to technical staff members in recognition of their achievements and contributions.

Since completing my PGCAP qualification in 2020, I have supported and mentored staff wishing to undertake professional development training through nationally recognised awarding bodies as well as led efforts to draft a technical training strategy with collaborative learning opportunities for our practice-based educators.

Outside of these core activities, a particular area of interest within my role is interactive and technology-based learning, a field which has developed exponentially over the past 5 years, as has the technical advancement of digital content delivery.

Professionally, I design AI automation solutions and am an advocate for AI education and digital learning initiatives, including how generative AI and predictive analytics can be introduced in ways that are inclusive, accessible, and aligned with university teaching goals.

Should you have questions or require support or advice on any of these subjects, including PG Cert or HEA recognition, please don't hesitate to contact me.
