Area of expertise
My research focuses primarily on classic Hollywood cinema, with an emphasis on historical stardom and fandom. Particular areas of interest include pre-Code Hollywood and censorship, historical fan magazines, the Yiddish-language reception of Hollywood cinema, and the career of Norma Shearer.
