About me

I am a LSE and SOAS trained political economist specialising in development economics (Sub-Saharan Africa). I teach International Trade and Multinational Business (year 2),  Emerging Economies (Masters) with a focus on policy and industry studies. I have been Teaching at UWE since 2016. Previously I worked at the University of Witwatersrand (2013-2016) teaching Microeconomics of industrial and Trade Policy to year 3 and Masters.

I worked on the National Minimum Wage Research Initiative (South Africa) which campaigned for a national minimum wage. This was successful as a minimum wage was introduced in 2017.

Research and teaching on industrialisation, industrial policy, sector studies (textiles and clothing, soy, essential oils, waste recycling), labour casualisation and fragmentation, minimum wages.
